ABOUT

The Social Distance Running Challenge is a virtual race series presented by ARE Event Productions (AREEP) to help keep you motivated while regular races can’t be held. The cost is $25 to participate.

CHARITY PARTNER

AREEP is excited to partner with food banks that are members of Feeding America. Participants are encouraged to donate to support the critical work that food banks are doing at this time. AREEP will match the first $5 of each donation made by a participant as a part of their race registration. Donations will be matched to the participant's local food bank based on their registration address.

WHEN

The series kicked off on Mon, 4/20 and went through Sun, 5/31. Capital District Challenge Participants may extend it to 7/5.

DISTANCE

1. You can choose one or more of these distances: 5K, 10K, 13.1M.
2. You can do any/all of those distances as many times as you choose.
3. Every time you run any of the distances, you can submit your time.
4. You are welcome to keep submitting times for the same distance.

LEVELS OF ACHIEVEMENT

Everyone's a winner by participating! Simply finish (submit your time for) 1 distance and you'll be emailed your digital 1-Ply Superstar badge. Try a different distance and you're a 2-Ply Achiever. And if you can muster all 3 distances before the end of May, you'll receive official status as a Golden Roll Emperor!

1. 1-Ply Superstar: Complete any one of the 3 offered distances at least once.
2. 2-Ply Achiever: Complete any two of the 3 offered distances at least once each.
3. Golden Roll Emperor: Complete all 3 distances at least once each.

WHERE

You can complete these runs anywhere, including a treadmill. If running outside, please find a place that is as free of others as possible. Be sure to practice physically distancing yourself from others while participating in the Social Distance Running Challenge.

WHAT YOU GET

1. A custom virtual bib with your name on it to share/print.
2. A one-of-a-kind medal* mailed to you.
   *Medal delivery will begin in the middle of May and continue into early June, based upon when you submit your first run.
3. Appear in the results listing for each distance you run.

We also have shirts available as an add-on ($20), and they look awesome! Your choice of color from gray, blue, and black.

SUBMITTING RESULTS

Once you complete your run(s), submit your results via your confirmation page (linked in the email you receive when you register). We also you encourage to be active on our Facebook page - feel free to post pictures there too or tag @SocialDistanceRunningChallenge.
